Advocacy

KACE works to promote a positive image of the Administrator and Operator profession while demonstrating the commitment adult care executives have for delivering the highest quality care for residents. KACE regularly advocates at the following stakeholder meetings.

Kansas Legislature

During the Kansas State Legislative session KACE provides testimony to various daily and special session legislative committees to communicate staffing, reimbursement, and regulatory challenges that Kansas long-term care providers are facing every day. KACE remains active during each legislative session to proudly represent the long-term healthcare heroes working in Kansas.

Bob Bethell KanCare Oversight & Kansas Legislature Committee Hearings

Each quarter KACE testifies on KanCare concerns and how those issues require considerable time and resources that would be better spent caring for residents. In addition to KanCare issues KACE advocates for workforce development, adequate nursing home and waiver reimbursement, and relief from overburdensome regulatory practices.

KDADS Stakeholder Meetings

KACE meets with the Secretary of KDADS and with KDADS leadership staff monthly to discuss survey, workforce shortage, Medicaid reimbursement issues, and other current topics.

KDADS/KDHE Monthly and Quarterly Meetings With Associations and Advocacy Groups

KACE meets with KDADS and KDHE leadership monthly to discuss on-going issues regarding elder care in Kansas.

Fire Marshal Stakeholder Meetings

KACE meets with The Office of the State Fire Marshal regularly to discuss new regulations and current topics for long-term care and assisted living facilities.
