  • Understand the federal regulatory requirements related to accident prevention
  • Describe the importance of accident risk assessments
  • Describe the requirements of the facility related to supervision
  • Understand the importance of an effective accident prevention program
  • Describe how to determine appropriate accident prevention interventions for a resident 
   


Continuing Education:  This course has been approved for 2.0 continuing education hours in the core area of Resident Care for Licensed Adult Care Home Administrators and Registered Operators by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services.  Health Occupations and Credentialing approved provider number (KDADS LTS# A1427).




Speaker Bio


Melissa joined the KACE team as their resource nurse. She has more than ten years’ experience working in long-term care regulation with KDADS and has extensive knowledge of the survey process and regulations. Melissa’s background will allow her to serve as an excellent resource and provide extensive guidance to our members. The services she offers will help the adult care executive achieve and maintain compliance, therefore helping to ensure that long-term care residents are receiving the appropriate care and services they deserve. Melissa’s services will help expedite plans of correction, abatement plans, and achieve past noncompliance, therefore minimizing the facility’s time out of compliance as well as their Civil Money Penalty.
