KACE Operator Program 


The KACE Operator Program is a 45-hour education course.


Upon successful completion of the course and the exam,

students will submit an application to KDADS to become a registered operator.


Program Format: Blend of remote learning and in-person class time. 




Remote learning: Thursday, August 28th- Tuesday September 16th:


Delivered through an online learning management system students will: 


View on-demand webinars and complete independent

study assignments (approximately 35 hours)




In-person class: Wednesday, September 17th 8:30 AM - 5 PM:

Survey Preparedness


Functional Capacity Screen and Negotiated Service Agreements Training


Overview of the State Survey Process and Top Cited Deficiencies

State of Kansas Operator Course Exam




Course requirements: 


Operator students must be at least 21 years of age. 


Operator students must have and provide one of the following:


(1) Academic transcripts or proof of receipt of an associate’s degree in a relevant field (degrees in business, hospitality, gerontology, health & human services, or other degrees as approved by the secretary)


(2) Academic transcripts or proof of receipt of a bachelor’s degree or graduate degree


(3) High school diploma or the equivalent AND evidence of one year of relevant experience in business, hospitality, gerontology, health & human services, or other fields as approved by the secretary)
